Dr. Erin McNally spent most of her childhood growing up on Long Island, NY. She attended Colgate University for her undergraduate degree, double-majoring in biology and environmental studies. She also spent a semester abroad in Australia, where she skydived, bungee-jumped, swam with sharks, and dissected kangaroos in anatomy lab. During her last summer of college, she researched the interactions of wolves, coyotes and squirrels in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
After graduating, Dr. McNally spent four years conducting research at the Gastroenterology and Hepatology department of Weill Cornell Medicine. During this time, she published five papers on colon cancer, including one which made the cover of Cancer Prevention Research. She simultaneously completed her remaining pre-veterinary coursework at Columbia University.
Dr. McNally obtained her doctorate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she received the Ettinger Incentive Award after her second year. During this time, she was an extern veterinarian at both a spay / neuter clinic and an emergency hospital, and worked summers at a general practice on Long Island. She currently maintains an interest in small animal general practice, emergency medicine, and surgery, and lives in Long Island City with imminent plans to adopt a shelter dog.
