The Claire S. Coburn Good Samaritan Fund is a memorial fund established to provide medical and surgical care to sick or injured homeless animals brought to our hospital.
The fund is named in memory of Claire S. Coburn, the late mother-in-law of Dr. Alan Coren and grandmother of Dr. Jared Coren. Claire was a passionate, lifelong animal lover and advocate. She quietly donated nearly the entire salary she earned as a surgical nurse to care for stray animals and anonymously sent gifts and supplies to shelters across Queens and Long Island.
This fund continues Claire’s work. Supported through donations and memorial gifts, it allows us to offer treatment to injured or ill pets who have no one else to speak for them.
Our dedication to the wellbeing of animals goes beyond our clinic walls. We are proud to support the following organizations that help care for pets in our community, across New York and throughout the country.
